Chapter 19: Elf Tails
In this chapter... Ron is slowly recovering. Nobody can think why Ron was poisoned but Hermione mentions that the mead was for Professor Dumbledore originally. Harry constantly checks the Marauder’s Map, puzzled why Draco Malfoy disappears sometimes. Cormac McLaggen replaces Ron as Gryffindor Keeper, while Ron recovers. The next Gryffindor game is against Hufflepuff. Luna Lovegood provides the commentary for Hufflepuff against Gryffindor, which is a very unusual and entertaining one. During the game, McLaggen continually tells the other Gryffindor players what to do and how to play better. McLaggen accidently hits a Bludger toward Harry, which knocks Harry out cold. Harry awakes in the Hospital wing.
Hufflepuff won the game. While in the Hospital wing, Harry can’t stop thinking about Malfoy. A brilliant idea comes to him, and he summons Kreacher. Dobby also arrives with Kreacher – the two house-elves are fighting each other, as Kreacher insulted Harry. Harry asks Dobby and Kreacher to follow Draco Malfoy – making it clear to Kreacher that he is not to tell Malfoy what he is up to.

“And that’s Smith of Hufflepuff with the Quaffle,” said a dreamy voice, echoing over the grounds, “He did the commentary last time, of course, and Ginny Weasley flew into him, I think probably on purpose – it looked like it. Smith was being quite rude about Gryffindor, I expect he regrets that now he’s playing them – oh look, he’s lost the Quaffle, Ginny took it from him, I do like her, she’s very nice…”

What position does Zacharias Smith play on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team? Chaser

Chapter 20: Lord Voldemort's Request
In this chapter... Harry and Ron leave the Hospital wing. Hermione is finally friends with Ron again. Harry is also pleased to learn that Ginny and Dean have had an argument, although they haven’t broken up. Harry has his next lesson with Dumbledore. Dumbledore is disappointed that Harry hasn’t got the memory for Slughorn yet, but Harry promises to get it soon. Dumbledore has two memories to show Harry.
After leaving Hogwarts, Tom Riddle took a job in Borgin and Burke’s. The memory shows Tom Riddle go to a rich witch’s home, and the witch – Hepzibah Smith – showing Tom two of her treasures. One is a cup, which belonged to Helga Hufflepuff - Hepzibah is a descendent of her – and the other is a locket of Slytherin’s. This locket is the same locket that Merope Gaunt sold to Mr Burke. A few days later, Hepzibah Smith was found dead. Her house-elf, Hokey, was convicted of murdering her mistress. The other memory is another one of Professor Dumbledore’s. Lord Voldemort – an older Tom Riddle – comes to see Professor Dumbledore, asking to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts. Of course Dumbledore refused. Dumbledore says that ever since that meeting with Lord Voldemort, the DADA job has been cursed.

She slid back the fine, filigree clasp and flipped open the box. There upon the smooth crimson velvet lay a heavy gold locket.
Voldemort reached out his hand without invitation this time and held it up to the light, staring at it.
“Slytherin’s mark,” he said quietly, as the light played upon an ornate, serpentine S.

Harry goes to Professor Dumbledore’s next lesson, still without Professor Slughorn’s memory. Dumbledore has managed to find two other memories. Harry is shown a memory of a house elf, belonging to a rich woman, Hepzibah Smith. What is on the cup that she showed Tom Riddle? Badger
