In this chapter... Harry and Mr Weasley see Lucius Malfoy – Draco’s father – talking with Cornelius Fudge, as they leave the Ministry. Harry is very annoyed, as he told Fudge a few weeks ago, that Malfoy senior was in the graveyard when Lord Voldemort returned. Malfoy senior is a known Death Eater, but Fudge seems willing to take gold from him. A few days later, the book lists arrive. With the booklists, is a Prefect badge for Hermione and, to everybody’s surprise – Ron too. Harry is very jealous at first but realises he can not be jealous of his best friends success. Ron gets a new broomstick for a reward for becoming a Prefect.
That evening, there is a party, celebrating the two new Prefects. Mad Eye Moody shows Harry a picture of the people who were members of the Order of the Phoenix, the first time. Harry feels perculiar as he sees his parents, Wormtail and even Mr and Mrs Longbottom – Neville’s parents. Mrs Weasley goes to deal with a Boggart in the drawing room. Harry is shocked to find Mrs. Weasley on the floor, distraught as the Boggart keeps turning into to members of her family, all dead. Remus Lupin reassures Molly it won’t be like last time.
“I don’t believe it! I don’t believe it! Oh, Ron, how wonderful! A Prefect! That’s everyone in the family!”
“What are Fred and I, next-door neighbours?” said George indignantly
What did Mundungus Fletcher bring Fred and George? Venomous Tentacula seeds
Chapter 10: Luna Lovegood
In this chapter... Harry is still having strange dreams of locked hallways and his scar hurts at intervals. The next day, they all return to Hogwarts. Sirius accompanies everyone to the station, in his Animagus form. It has been a long time since he has been out of Grimmauld Place.
Ron and Hermione have to do their first Prefect duties on the Hogwarts Express. Draco Malfoy has also been made a prefecr, much to all the Gryffindor’s disgust. Harry, Neville and Ginny enter a compartment which is occupied by Luna Lovegood – a Ravenclaw, in the fourth year. Luna has a air of distinct dottiness about her. Not suprisingly, her father is the editor for "The Quibbler", an unusual magazine, which enjoys publishing crazy stories. Neville shows off his new Mimbulus Mimbletonia but his demonstration of the plant’s defensive powers soaks them all in stinksap just as Cho Chang comes in.
At the station, Hagrid is not there to greet them as usual. Instead it is Professor Grubly-Plank, who sometimes stands in for Hagrid. There are strange, skeletal horses pulling the carriages that only Harry and Luna can see.
“I’ll make Goyle do lines, it’ll kill him, he hates writing,” said Ron happily. He lowered his voice to Goyle’s low grunt and, screwing up his face in a look of pained concentration, mined writing in midair. “I…must…not…look…like…a…baboon’s…backside…”
Where does the Mimbulus Mimbletonia come from? Assyria
