Saturday 30th June – 21 days to go

Chapter 29: Career Advice
In this chapter... Harry doesn’t even tell Hermione and Ron about what he saw in the Pensieve. Harry realises that his father – and his friends, particularly Sirius – weren’t as wonderful as he thought. Harry longs to speak to Sirius about what he saw, but Umbridge is keeping an eye on all the fires, and reading any post delivered by owls. Fred and George say that they will arrange a diversion so Harry can use Umbridge's fire to contact Sirius.
The fifth years have career advice with Professor McGonagall, to discuss what they aim to be. Harry has a meeting with McGonagall about his career ambition to become an Auror. Umbridge oversees the meeting and states that Harry will never become a Auror, with his criminal record.
When Fred and George’s diversion goes off, Harrt heads to Professor Umbridge’s office, and uses her fire, so that his head can visit Grimmauld Place. Harry manages to see both Sirius and Lupin, and he tells them all about the memory he saw, with James and a younger Snape. Lupin and Sirius both stick up for James's behavior, saying he was young and grew out of his arrogance. Harry feels better about it but has to go when he hears somebody coming. In the Enterance Hall, Fred and George are surrounded by Umbridge and the rest of the school. She tries to apprehend them and they make a spectacular escape that Harry is sure will soon be a Howart's legend, on their broomsticks. Their joke shop – Weasleys’ Wizarding Wheezes – is all ready at 93 Diagon Alley, and they market their products, of course, to the very end .

“I would advise you to concentrate hard on bringing your Transfiguration and Potions up to scratch. I see Professor Flitwick has graded you between “Acceptable” and “Exceeds Expectations” for the last two years, so your Charm work seems satisfactory. As for Defence Against the Dark Arts, your marks have been generally high. Professor Lupin in particular thought you – are you quite sure you wouldn’t like a cough drop Dolores?”

What do you need to get a job in Gringotts? Arithmancy

Chapter 30: Grawp

In this chapter... Fred and George left their mark in Hogwarts, by leaving a giant swamp, which the teachers seem unable to get rid off! Harry finally tells Hermione and Ron how the Twins were able to start up their joke shop, and how he gave them his Triwizard winnings. Ron is delighted to learn this – now Mrs Weasley won’t be able to blame him for the Twins escaping Hogwarts.
It is the last match of the Quidditch season – Gryffindor against Ravenclaw. While Hermione and Ron watch the match, Hagrid asks them them to follow him into the forest. Hermione and Harry finally discover why Hagrid has been getting so many injuries. When he was on his secret mission, with Madame Maxime, he discovered he has a half brother – Grawp – and he brought him back with him. Grawp is a giant too – although smaller than most giants. Hagrid has been hiding Grawp in the forest, and trying to teach him English. Hagrid asks Hermione and Harry to look after Grawp if Umbridge fires him. Harrry, Hermione and Hagrid also run foul of the centaurs in the forest. They do not approve of Grawp being in the forest. When Harry and Hermione return to the school, match has finished. Ron played magnificently and they won the Quidditch Cup.

“An’ this is Hermione see? Her-“ Hagrid hesitated. Turning towards Hermione, he said, “Would yeh mind if he called yeh Hermy, Hermione? On’y it’s a difficult name fer him ter remember”
“No, not at all,” squeaked Hermione.
