Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Chapter 1: The Riddle House

In this chapter... Instead of starting the story from Harry’s perspective, we learn a little about a small village called Little Hangleton. Fifty years ago, in this village, three people were apparently murdered: Mr. and Mrs. Riddle, and their son, Tom. There was no sign how they died. The caretaker of the Riddle house is Frank Bryce. He was suspected of killing the Riddles but nothing was proven. One night, Frank sees a light in the Riddle House. Convinced that kids have broken into the mansion, Frank goes to investigate. When Frank gets inside the house, however, he he finds a very different type of burglar. Unbeknownst to old Frank, a very weak Lord Voldemort has returned to the house of his father with the assistance of his servant, Wormtail. Frank listens to their conversation, although he doesn’t understand most of it. They talk about a woman named Bertha Jorkins, who the Lord has apparently murdered, and a “faithful servant” who will soon rejoin them. They mention the Quidditch World Cup too. As Lord Voldemort discusses his future plans with Wormtail, Nagini, Voldemort’s snake, discovers Frank’s hiding spot in the hallway. Frank’s terror at seeing the mangled body of Voldemort is the last thing he knows.

There was a flash of green light, a rushing sound, and Frank Bryce crumpled. He was dead before he hit the floor.

What was the pub that the cook went to, to tell the story? "The Hanged Man"

Chapter 2: The Scar

In this chapter... Harry Potter awakes suddenly, his scar searing in pain. He has just had a very disturbing dream. He saw, in his dream, Voldemort was alive, in a room with his servant Wormtail and an old man Harry didn’t know. Harry thinks Lord Voldemort and Wormtail were plotting to kill someone…and he thinks it was him! Harry is still at the Dursleys for the summer. Ron and Hermione has witten to him a few times – the Quidditch World Cup is soon. The Dursleys don’t treat Harry quite as badly – they allow him to keep his wizarding school things in his bedroom, because they are frightened, now Harry has a murderer for a Godfather. Harry decides to write to his godfather, Sirius, and let him know what happened and if curse scars searing with pain is a normal thing.

But their attitude has changed since they found out that Harry has a dangerous murderer for a Godfather – Harry had conveniently forgotten to tell them that Sirius was innocent.

The Dursleys no longer kept Harry's school things locked up in the cupboard under the stairs. What made them change their attitude? Harry had a godfather who had been imprisoned for murder
